Netherlands School Society (Kenia): Experience a variety of skills

“It is a magical experience to see the planted seeds germinate and grow, and to taste what they have grown once harvested. Some students planted their own lettuce. After a few weeks of taking care of their lettuce, they can finally bring it home!

To give our students a chance to be exposed to and experience a variety of skills, we offer inter school learning activities four days a week. These students are learning about plants and how to grow plants with our indoor LED cultivation system, the GrowWizzKid.

We look forward to embedding GrowWizzKid into our IEYC/IPC curriculum, so that we can learn even more about how plants grow and healthy eating. It is a great tool to continue to work on our investigation skills.” Hanneke Hollak, Directeur Netherlands School Society in Nairobi, Kenia.

De Netherlands School Society is de Nederlandse basisschool die al sinds 1971 de Nederlandse kinderen in Nairobi voorziet van onderwijs. Met ruim 20 nationaliteiten aanwezig is het een “nationale-internationale school”. Er wordt tweetalig les gegeven volgens  het IPC curriculum waar GrowWizzKid uitstekend aan gekoppeld kan worden.

Eén van onze partners, Florensis International, heeft een productielocatie in Kenia. Zij maken het werken met GrowWizzKid mede mogelijk. Het bedrijf levert onder andere gewassen en expertise, waaronder gastlessen. Super betekenisvol dus: Samenwerking is groei!
